so, do you believe that there are a number of people on earth who are experiencing a sort of a conflict really between their physical biochemical self and their spiritual self?

let's put it this way.

we join a body.

generally, souls choose bodies.

for one of two reasons,
2つの理由がありますが、1つは

either the body is very similar to the character of the soul.
肉体が魂の性格にとても似ているからです

in which case, there's a kind of a melding of two like characters if you will.
その場合は2つの性格があたかも融合したようなものです

or they choose in opposition.
または反対の性格をした肉体を選びます

they either choose in conjunction or opposition.

they choose an opposition for example,

you could have a low energy passive soul, joining a very aggressive body in order to gain from that association.

I find it more often than not Souls choose an opposition.
私は魂が「対立」を選ぶことが多いと感じています

because they learn more.

and when they do that, very often times there's conflict.

internal conflict that be even the conscious mind does not understand.
